Ironwood Tools are tools that are crafted from Ironwood Ingots, an improved version of Iron Ingots. All of these tools (excepting the Ironwood Hoe, as no enchantments exist that are applicable to hoes) receive innate enchantments upon crafting or when they are spawned in using NEI. Ironwood tools have a durability value of 512 for all of the tools. This means that Ironwood Tools are approximately twice as durable as regular Iron tools, which have a durability value of 260. Thus, incorporating a single Iron Ingot into a unit of Raw Ironwood Materials and using the resulting Ironwood Ingots is just under four times as efficient as using regular Iron, albeit at the cost of one Gold Nugget and one Liveroot per unit of Raw Ironwood Materials.
Ironwood Tools are about four times as durable as Steeleaf Tools, which each have a durability value of 131 (half that of Iron), and about half as durable (the pick and sword, at least) as the two Fiery Tools. However, while the Ironwood Pick is unable to mine Obsidian (as is the Fiery Pick), the Steeleaf Pick is capable of mining Obsidian at about the same rate as a Diamond Pick would.
