The Vanishing Block is a type of "magic door block" added by the Twilight Forest mod. They naturally spawn in the Dark Tower, and while they cannot be harvested, they can be crafted. When right-clicked or triggered with a Redstone current, the Vanishing Block will vanish; unlike its counterpart the Reappearing Block, the Vanishing Block vanishes and will not reappear, leaving only air in its place. The Vanishing Block is "smart" in that before vanishing, it analyzes the entirety of the Vanishing Block structure to detect if any Locked Vanishing Blocks are present.
If Locked Vanishing Blocks are present that have not been turned into Unlocked Vanishing Blocks with the use of a Tower Key, the entire structure refuses to vanish. This is in an effort to keep locked doors locked; the various types of Towerwood supplement this, as to get past a locked door, the player would either have to dig into the outside of the tower, exposing oneself to Carminite Ghastguards and fall damage threats, or find Tower Keys in the player's current wing of the tower to unlock the door.
Locked Vanishing Blocks and Unlocked Vanishing Blocks similarly cannot be crafted or placed except in Creative Mode, but will function properly when they have been placed in this manner. These blocks cannot be right-clicked or triggered otherwise to vanish the structure, whether locked or unlocked.
Vanishing Blocks can trigger Reappearing Blocks in the same chain as them and vice versa.
