The Torchberry Plant is an item that is fairly commonly found in the Twilight Forest underground. It is an instant-breaking block that, when broken, drops a single unit of Torchberries. The Fortune enchantment does not appear to have an effect on the quantity of Torchberries dropped per plant, and the Silk Touch enchantment does not drop the actual plant Block, but Torchberries. Currently, there is no way to replant Torchberries, despite the name of the Torchberry as a type of plant. Thus, Torchberries, however abundant they may be in a given world, are a non-renewable resource and should not be used to create Torches unless the need for torches is dire. Actual Torchberry Plant blocks can only be found and placed on ceilings.
This is due to Torchberries' importance in the crafting of the Magic Map Focus, a very valuable item that allows the player to map a large portion of the Twilight Forest (providing the player also has some Paper) and easily locate major Landmarks in the Twilight Forest. Torchberries also have a use in refilling the Moonworm Queen, which could be used as an easy method of placing down lighting sources.
Usage[edit]
Torchberry Plant has no known uses in crafting.
