Static Boots are an upgraded version of Iron Boots. They make use of the tiny kinetic charge generated by walking to fill up worn electric armor, such as a BatPack, very slowly (at 1 EU every 5 blocks of walking). They provide the same protection as Diamond Boots.
They did not provide protection in older versions, although there was a bug that makes the boots reduce fall damage.
