The Composite Vest is an armor piece added by the IndustrialCraft2 mod. It provides 9 armor points, greater even than a Diamond Chestplate. Additionally, the composite vest lasts much longer and is more resistant to explosions. It is enchantable too.
The vest is the only "composite" type armor; there are no helmet, leggings or boots.
