The Electric Jetpack is a simpler, more easily recharged, and otherwise mostly superior version of the conventional Jetpack. Flying is performed by holding down the jump key.
The Electric Jetpack is limited to a maximum flying height of ~185 blocks (~96 in The Nether) above the bedrock layer. For comparison, the normal Jetpack is limited to ~245 meters above bedrock.
It also has a Hover Mode, which can be turned on and off by pressing the Mode Switch Key (default is usually 'M', but this may conflict with Rei's Minimap menu and can be configured in Options) while pressing the jump key (hold one and press the other - it is advised to hold 'm' and press space unless you want to change modes mid-flight). In Hover Mode, holding the jump key will make the player ascend more slowly (roughly equivalent to ascending a ladder), and the jetpack will automatically slow the player's fall to a similar speed, preventing fall damage while equipped and charged.
Using Jetpack Attachment Plate it can be attached to any armor from Vanilla Minecraft and its mods. It can even be attached to energy Packs.
UsageElectric Jetpack can be used to create the following items:
A fully charged Electric Jetpack has enough power to fly for about 215 seconds (3 minutes and 35 seconds) in normal mode, and about 375 seconds (6 minutes and 15 seconds) in hover mode. This is drastically longer than the regular Jetpack's flight time of ~60 seconds.
Unlike the normal Jetpack, the Electric one remains powerful right until it drains the charge completely.
The Electric Jetpack can be recharged in any EU storage block or generator, and requires 30,000 EU to fully charge. It can also be charged with the Solar Helmet. When using the solar helmet, you can continuously fly even if the jetpack has fully discharged, even at night (as long as it isn't raining); however, you can take fall damage even in Hover Mode if the jetpack lands while out of charge, making this hazardous without Long Fall Boots, NanoSuit Boots, or Quantum Boots.
