Primordial Pearl is an item added by the Thaumcraft 4 mod. It is a guaranteed drop from Crimson Portal, Champion Eldritch Guardian, Eldritch Construct and from the 4th Giant Taintacle. There is also an extremely rare chance for it to drop from Rare Abandoned Crates, Rare Old Urns and Rare Treasure. This chance is so low that the player should not rely on it.
The pearl can be right-clicked onto a node, which triggers multiple effects. The pearl has a chance to add a small amount of each primal to the node's capacity, checked individually. If the node is lacking any of the primal Aspects, there is a chance for each to be added. All compound aspects have a 50% chance of losing one from their maximum value permanently. The node's brightness can increase, 50% chance to upgrade fading or pale, and 20% chance to upgrade normal. Using the pearl in this way also causes an explosion and spawns a large number of flux blocks centered on the node. Primordial Node Manipulation research in the Eldritch tab reduces the explosion radius and boosts the amount of primal aspects that can be added.
Primordial Pearls are also crafting ingredients for several endgame items.
