Alumentum is an item added by the Thaumcraft 4 mod. It is a very good fuel: burn time is enough to smelt 32 items. It is also a crafting component for some endgame items in addons.

It can be right-clicked to be thrown, creating a small explosion 8 blocks from the player. Before the explosion, a huge amount of black fog particles show where the item is currently "flying".

"This substance throbs with fiery energy and it is more than eager to release that energy at the slightest bump. It may be unstable, but it would probably make a good source of fuel.

It is probably not a good idea to throw it against a solid surface unless you enjoy explosions."
