Wintry Bees are a common type of bee found in Snow Beehives. They are bred in an Apiary or Alveary.

When breaking a Wintry Beehive with a Scoop, it will drop a Wintry Princess with an 80% chance of also dropping a Wintry Drone. Wintry Drones can also be found in Igloo chests (1-3, 20%). These can then be bred in an Apiary or an Alveary to produce a Wintry Queen. Breeding them with different species can result in new mutations.

Snow Hives are typically found in snowy biomes, such as Taiga, Ice Plains, Ice Mountains and Snow Forests.

Wintry bees have the "Freezing" Effect which will turn water on their territory into ice. They do not work at night, underground or when it is raining unless bred to do so.

Production

Wintry Bees produce Frozen Combs which can be made into Honey Drops, which then can be used in a Beealyzer as well as other Bee related machinery.

Requirements

Wintry Bees require an icy to cold temperature and normal humidity to start working. Their tolerance can be increased through selective breeding or an Acclimatiser.

They require at least one regular block of Snow in addition to normal flowers near their hive to start working.
