The Still is used to convert Biomass into Biofuel. It needs to be powered by a BuildCraft compatible engine. Each bucket of Biomass produces 0.3 bucket of Biofuel at a cost of about 2600 MJ.
Since biomass produces 50,000 MJ(12,500 MJ in 1.6.4 or above) per bucket in a Biogas Engine and ethanol produces 200,000 MJ(80,000 MJ in 1.6.4 or above in a Bio Generator) in a Combustion Engine, the biofuel produced this way has 50,000 MJ(11,500 MJ in 1.6.4 or above) more energy in it than the biomass it came from, for a profit of 42,200 MJ(8,900 MJ in 1.6.4 or above). Combined with the higher energy density and slower burn rate of Biofuel, which can make it easier to pipe large amounts of it around, this makes the Still a nice addition to a bio-based generator setup.
However, since the still works much more slowly than the Fermenter that produces biomass, more than one still may be required per fermenter to keep the stills from becoming a bottleneck.
The Biomass as well as the Biofuel can be transported through buckets, cans, capsules, BuildCraft pipes, any of the EnderIO Fluid Conduit, or Liquiducts from Thermal Expansion. Note that putting cans, cells, or buckets of biomass in the input of a still destroys the medium.
As is the case with most BuildCraft machines, the more power you supply, the faster the Still will work. Maximum input is 5 MJ/t.
