The Crescent Hammer is a tool that allows you to modify, reorient and break items from Thermal Expansion and vanilla Minecraft. To rotate a block, simply right-click on any face of the block. If the block you are rotating can be in any orientation (for instace AE2's Crystal Growth Accelerator) it will rotate about the face you clicked. Right-clicking on connected ducts from Thermal Dynamics will disconnect them, and vice versa. You can also remove Servos from Itemducts and Fluiducts with a simple right-click. Sneak (Shift) right-clicking on most machines and pipes from most mods will instantly break them. This works on machines and pipes from Applied Energistics 2, EnderIO, BuildCraft, and probably others. This however will not work on machines from IndustrialCraft2; you will need IC2's own Wrench or Electric Wrench. The BuildCraft Wrench has some of the same properties, but can't be used to break items from Thermal Expansion.

With Misc Peripherals installed, you can give a Crescent Hammer to an engineering turtle to automatically grind ores on Quartz Grind Stone from Applied Energistics.

In versions 1.16 and above, the player can toggle 'Engineer Vision', bound to 'V' by default. With Engineer Vision Enabled if there are any nearby machines from Thermal Series that work in a range, they will have an overlay displaying the effective range.
