The Shrub of Sprouting is an item added by the Witchery mod. It is a trapped plant that causes a large branch of tree to grow out away from any surface hit.
It is a way to instantly create bridges across ravines or the like and if thrown under the player it is a nice and quick way to ascend to maybe avoid a creeper blast.
Be careful! Only a Boline can safely harvest these without damaging them!
