The Hunger Protection Poppet is an item added by the Witchery mod. It is capable of redirecting lethal starvation damage from a player to the poppet, destroying the poppet in the process.
When the poppet activates, in addition to preventing the damage which would have killed the player, it also heals the player for five hearts, and gives them a 3 second starvation immunity buff. It also refills the player's hunger bar.
Note that the Hunger Protection Poppet only protects against lethal starvation damage. If the damage would not have otherwise killed the player, the poppet will not activate.
It must be in a player inventory or on a Poppet Shelf to provide its protection.
