The Refined Evil is an item added by the Witchery mod. It is a component of several recipies and Circle Rituals.

Note that in survival mode the player will always have to use the first recipe (the one featuring a Ghast Tear) the first time they craft Refined Evil. This is because Refined Evil is required as an ingredient for all the possible methods of summoning a Demon, and fighting or trading with Demons is the only way to obtain Demon Hearts (the required ingredient for the second recipe).
