An Obsidian Shard is used in Tier 3 of the Mekanism ore processing system for quadrupling ore production.

Shards are produced in a Chemical Injection Chamber from Hydrogen Chloride and either raw Obsidian or crystals. The shards are then processed in a Purification Chamber.
