The Basic Bin is the entry-tier item storage block added by Mekanism, functioning similarly to a Barrel. It holds a single type of item up to a fixed capacity and accepts both manual and automated input and output. The bin picks up the dropped item with its contents intact, allowing it to be carried around or stored without losing what it holds.
A held bin can be right-clicked on the world to place it. Right-clicking the front face while holding an item inserts the entire stack, while left-clicking removes a full stack and sneak-left-clicking removes a single item. Items can also be piped in from the top and out from the bottom; using a Configurator while sneaking on the bin toggles auto-eject mode, after which items leave the bottom face on their own. While in the player inventory, items can still be pulled from a bin by placing it in a crafting grid and taking from the output slot.
A Basic Bin can be upgraded into an Advanced Bin by surrounding it with Enriched Alloy.
