The Electrolytic Separator is a machine added by Mekanism that can separate Water and Brine into their component chemicals. Production rate is approximately 20 mB/second. This machine is used in various stages in the Mekanism ore processing system.
The Electrolytic Separator has three internal tanks. The first tank holds the input liquid, either Water or Brine, and can be input from any side of the machine. The remaining two tanks hold the output from the electrolysis process. There is a red tank on one side of the machine and a blue tank on the other. The red tank is the product on the right side of the GUI, and the blue tank is the product on the left side of the GUI. These products can be piped out of the machine on their respective side using Pressurized Tubes.
If either of the product tanks fill up, the Electrolytic Separator will stop processing. This will prevent it from filling up the other tank. If only one of the products is desired, pressing the button next to the product name will begin dumping it to the environment. This will not cause any harmful effects despite what one would predict.
The first liquid that the Electrolytic Separator processes is Water. For each 2 units of Water input, there will be 2 units of Hydrogen produced and 1 unit of Oxygen (H2O).
The second liquid that can be processed is Brine. For each 10 units of Brine input, there will be one unit each of Hydrogen and Chlorine.
