The Seared Tank is a machine added by Tinkers' Construct. Made from Seared Brick and Glass, it is a component of the Smeltery, providing storage for the Lava needed to power the smeltery. It can also be used as a stand-alone liquid storage tank.
Each smeltery must have at least one tank. They can be located anywhere in the walls of the smeltery. It has a capacity of 4,000 Millibuckets. If multiple tanks are present in a smeltery, the Smeltery Controller will use lava from one tank at a time, and when it is empty switch to another tank with lava. Breaking a seared tank with a pickaxe will allow it to retain its liquid inventory for re-placing.
While Seared Tank can be used as general purpose liquid containers, they are generally inferior to BuildCraft Tanks or Railcraft Tanks. The former are much cheaper, being made entirely out of glass, and hold twice as much, while Railcraft tanks are more expensive but can hold vast amounts of liquid.

See Also[edit]
- Seared Glass - Another Smeltery block that can hold liquids that uses more glass instead of seared brick. Also good for viewing the inside of Smelteries.
- Seared Window - Practically identical to Seared Glass, but with a different texture and uses less glass at the cost of more Seared Brick.
