The Insulated Wire is a block added by the RedPower 2 mod. An insulated Red Alloy Wire, that offer several advantages. It can be attached to any block [1], but will only energize blocks connected at the end of the wire. It can be colour coded allowing several wires in proximity within a complex system as it will not connect to a wire of a different colour. It can also be bundled.

You can use colored wool in recipe (all wool must be of the same color) to create colored Insulated Wire with color of this wool.
