The Accelerator is a block added by the RedPower 2 mod which is necessary for the operation of Magtubes. The Accelerator must be powered by some form of Blutricity, whether it is from a Solar Panel, a Kinetic Generator or a Thermopile. Otherwise, the Accelerator will not function. An Accelerator is required at both the beginning and end of a Magtube line so that items entering a Magtube can be both accelerated for quick transport and decelerated to reenter a network of either Pneumatic Tubes or Redstone Tubes and be transferred to a chest or other inventory, as the Magtube cannot directly connect to inventory blocks or transfer items into them and merely serves as a method of quick transportation of items.
