Ignis Bees are the type of bee added by Magic Bees that allows for the sustainable and renewable production of Fire Shards. They're a member of the Thaumic Branch and their comb / specialty varies depending on which version of Thaumcraft is installed. Both are listed in the infobox but the two combs / specialties are mutually exclusive.

Production

Thaumcraft 3

Ignis Bees produce Firey Combs every 2.2 minutes and Blaze Powder every 4.1 minutes as a specialty. The resulting Burning Propolis can be centrifuged for a 10% chance of a Fire Shard. Burning Propolis can also be squeezed, which results in 250 mB of lava and allows for an 18% chance at acquiring a Fire Shard, a chance 8% greater than simply centrifuging it.

Thaumcraft 4

Ignis Bees produce Glittering Firey Combs every 1.6 minutes (20% rate) and their specialty Burning Propolis every 1.8 minutes (18% rate). Burning Propolis can be further centrifuged for Fire Infused Dust, four of which make one shard.

Requirements

Pure Ignis Bees require a Hot Climate and Arid Humidity to make their specialty, and at least one Magic Flower, either a Shimmerleaf or a Cinderpearl. Like all species, their traits can be modified through Bee Breeding.
