Amethyst is a gem added by the Biomes O' Plenty mod. It generates naturally in the Promised Land, which is a floating island biome also added by Biomes O' Plenty. It can be used to craft tools and armor a tier above diamond, as well as the Amethyst Bucket, an item that can be used to pick up Spring Water.
Amethyst can be obtained by mining in the Promised Land or the End, but it can also be produced by a Laser Drill.
