Tainted Soil is a block added by the Natura mod. It spawns in the Nether, in various locations, including under lava lakes. Natura Nether trees can only grow on Tainted Soil; however, this means that they can also be grown in the Overworld on blocks of Tainted Soil.

Tainted Soil also seems to have properties of Netherrack, allowing it to sustain a fire indefinitely, making it an alternative to Netherrack in decorative fireplaces.

The block can also be obtained by putting Sludge (MineFactory Reloaded) in a Sludge Boiler.
