The Lantern is a block added by Immersive Engineering. The lantern provides light, the light is equivalent to a Glowstone block, the bright light level in the game. When placed next to another block the lantern will place a decorative handle to connect it to the other block.
Right-click while holding a screwdriver to adjust the light level.
