FTB Ultimate[edit]

Please do not add a "Guides" section to Feed The Beast Ultimate Pack, as you did here and here. This page is for documenting the modpack itself, and not about gameplay. The proper location to write a guide would be under Tutorial:Main, being sure to follow the style guides linked from that page. Happy editing! --timrem (talk) 21:06, 1 July 2013 (CEST)

Yup, my talk page would be the best place to contact me, as you did, or even just replying here. Though if you add ~~~~ to the end of your discussion post, it will add your signature (a link to this page) and the time of your message, which makes following wiki conversations easier. No harm done with the guides section, though if your changes disappear like they did after your first edit, you may want to check the page history to see if they were reverted for a reason. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions, or if you want to make an account over in our forums, you may get a quicker response from someone else. Thanks for the advice. This is my first time editing wiki's, as you might have guessed. Putting aside the fact that it was in the wrong section, my attempt at a guide was mainly due to a perceived lack of organization. When I was just browsing a mod's data, it was annoyingly hard to find where to start. Since I want to help, could you suggest a method of cleaning them up that wouldn't cross the barrier into being a guide?
Second question: do you know of any areas of the wiki that need either updates or plain old data? Current example would be the Soul Shards section. In preparation for Thaumcraft and Mystcraft (and any other mods that need ink), I tried to create a squid spawner. Two things that I noticed after a few annoyed attempts is that I had to kill the first mob with the actual soul shard - which kinda makes sense now that I think about it, but both the Soul Shards and Soul Shard claim that the item just has to be in your hotbar - and that the shards don't work on squids. I used a new shard on several squids with no effect, then used the same empty shard successfully on a chicken. I've been around computers enough to know that it might be a bug just on my computer rather than than the mod; but if it is intentional, the mod needs work.

Thanks.AQiccl135 (talk) 16:03, 5 July 2013 (CEST)
