Magicbane is a weapon item added by the Xeno's Reliquary mod. It is made of gold, so it's a viable weapon with the Touchstone of Midas. It has a chance of inflicting a random potion effect on your target. Enchantments in this weapon add directly to its damage. Smite V, for example, adds five damage to attacks against all enemies, instead of the damage boost against undead. Its name is a direct reference to the Magicbane artifact weapon in NetHack.
