Boots of the Meteor is an upgraded pair of Boots of the Traveler with some extra abilities, which are increased horizontal speed, the ability to leap long distances (activated by Space + Shift and looking at the destination) and the ability to land very quickly while in midair (activated by Shift). Doing so creates a small explosion at the landing point.

"Your Boots of the Traveler have been very useful, but sometimes you have desired even more mobility. By imbuing the Boots of the Traveler with the raw power of Ignis and Potentia, you have created a pair of boots with unrivaled mobility.
These boots proper the wearer with the force of a meteor in the direction they are looking, if they jump while crouching. Pressing the crouch button when in midair will launch the player towards the ground at incredible speeds, damaging anything near the point of impact."
