Tutorials[edit]

Hi! If you're looking to make a tutorial for a mod, first thing you'll want to do is check out Tutorial:Main to see what we already have. Not only will this save you some work if you happened to be focused on a mod that already has a tutorial, but it's a good way to get acquainted with the style we use here for tutorials. For example, the tutorial for Thaumcraft 3 has a very nice layout where each major step of how to get started is its own heading, with plenty of detail in each section including screenshots and recipes. If you're looking to create a tutorial for getting started with Thaumcraft 4, for instance, you'd create the page Tutorial:Getting Started (Thaumcraft 4) and then emulate the Thaumcraft 3 tutorial: a brief introduction about the goal of the tutorial, followed by how to craft the thaumometer, the iron-capped wooden wand, and how to get the thaumonomicon. The following sections could cover how to scan things for research points, perhaps with some suggestions for what's good to scan to make progress, and then how research is performed. Where possible, you should link to relevant articles so the user can read up more on the subjects. And, that's about it. Once you've finished, feel free to ask someone to look it over, or just add it to the appropriate places under Tutorial:Main so people can find it. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions! Oh, and if you type ~~~~ at the end when leaving a message for someone, it automatically signs your username with a link and the date of the post, which is better than typing it out manually.
