Symbols describe how an age will generate, and what features it will have.

If you are currently using Mystcraft version 0.10.x or greater: All information on this page is incorrect and pertains to earlier versions. Mystcraft 0.10 completely overhauled how Ages are created, and the old system which is described here is no longer in use.

Usage

Symbols are recorded in a Notebook, on pages you can find as loot in various places, or as a trade from a Mystcraft villager. Once you have some pages and a Descriptive Book, you can use a Writing Desk and your notebook to make your age. For help making a stable age(very important) see Stable Ages.
