Spectral Essence is an item added by the Hardcore Ender Expansion mod.

Its main use is to turn a Basic Essence Altar into Spectral Essence Altar by right-clicking the altar with the Spectral Essence. The Altar will then request 8 random items to be fed into it to finally turn into a Spectral Essence Altar. After that, it is possible to insert Spectral Essence into the Altar by right-clicking. Right now Spectral Essence Altar has no uses.

Obtaining

The only way to obtain Spectral Essence is to spawn it with /give commands or using NEI set to cheat mode.
