HTGR[edit]
High-Temperature Gas Reactor also known as the pebble bed reactor. it has 2 main components: "Pebble bed reactor core" and "carbon dioxide heat exchanger"
Pebble Bed Reactor Core[edit]
The Pebble bed reactor core is the fuel unit for the pebble bed reactor. once loaded with fuel pellets, it will undergo spontaneous fission and generate heat. The heat is best transferred to a carbon dioxide heat exchanger.
Carbon Dioxide Heat Exchanger[edit]
The C02 Heat Exchanger absorbs heat from a pebble bed reactor and transfers it into the carbon dioxide pumped in. The hot carbon dioxide can be drawn out of the top and fed into a heat exchanger. (It must reach 800C to emit hot carbon dioxide)
