Introduction
Mercury is the first planet of Sol in the Extra Planets mod. It is also the first planet you will visit of the mod, being a gateway to Tier 4 equipment, and inflating the amount of Desh and Meteoric Iron the player has in this stage of the game to compensate for high resource costs. Mercury can also be used to generate large amounts of power, as the Solar Efficiency is 500%.
Prerequisites
- At least a Tier 3 Thermal Padding set
- At least a Tier 1 Space Suit set
- Oxygen Tanks
Geological Features
The surface is composed of several gray blocks, including steep mountains and craters. Pools of Infected Water also generate on Mercury, a liquid that can damage the player, or converted into Clean Water with the use of a Purifier. Clumps of Desh and Meteoric Iron will form frequently on the Surface.
Like other planets and moons, villages will also form, which are made of Mercury Stone.
The underground of the planet has caves. There are 5 ores present on Mercury: Carbon, Iron, Tin, Copper, and Mercury. Mercury Gravel will also spawn, which when broken, will always drop Flint. Potash can also be found on this planet. Fossils can generate within the mountains of Mercury, but serves no purpose.
Dungeon
The Dungeon is indifferent to other dungeons included in Extra Planets. The structure generates rooms to fight through, including Evolved Magma Cube and Ghast spawners. The Dungeon is also made of Yellow Brick, known as 'Mercury Dungeon Brick'. Many cobwebs generate in each room. The Boss is called the 'Evolved Magma Cube Boss', a huge magma cube with 600 Health. Evolved Magma Cubes, and the Boss, attack similarly to how Magma Cubes attack.
The Tier 4 Treasure Chest can be opened with the Tier 4 Dungeon Key, that is obtained byby defeating the Evolved Magma Cube Boss. You are guaranteed to find a Tier 4 Rocket schematic or a Geiger Counter, along with other common loot that may help you progress.
