The Basic Dial Device is a block added by the EnhancedPortals 2 mod. The device allows users to dial a network to connect to a portal in that network. To operate, the device has to be placed within a 5 block radius of the Portal Modifier of the portal it has to be connected to. This Portal Modifier and that of any destination portal that will be dialed, will need a Dialling Upgrade attached to it. More advanced capabilities, such as storing a list of target networks can be found in the more expensive Dial Device.
When a portal is dialed using a Basic Dial Device, the portal will stay open for 38 seconds. Once the 38 seconds have expired, the portal will disengage and will have to be dialed again.
GUI

The interface of the Basic Dial Device is very simple. First the target network has to be entered as a combination of the 27 vanilla item images displayed at the top. This network identifier consists out of a maximum of nine glyphs. When the identifier has been input, the Dial button is pressed to establish a connection. To remove a glyph from the identifier, it has to be right-clicked.
