Talk:Induction Smelter
The induction smelter doesn't seem to be able to smelt dust together with rich slag in latest thermal expansion for 1.6.4. Placing ore and rich slag gives three ingots. 2 dust and slag does nothing, but 2 dust and 1 sand gives 2 ingots. Is this a bug, or is the article just poorly worded? As is, rich slag lets you give up some low value dust from pulverization byproducts for the ability to smelt rare ores at a 50% yield bonus.
- What you describe is definitely the case for TE3 in 1.6.4 packs. I've never know the Induction Smelter to be able to smelt dusts with Rich Slag, but I'll have to go back and test in 1.4 and 1.5 packs to see if this was ever the case. Remember, we're not only documenting the latest packs, but the older packs as well. It's possible it used to work as described. --timrem (talk) 19:46, 29 January 2014 (CET)
- Thanks for replying. I was just caught off guard because I was hoping to use the slag to get some extra gold, always seem to be short. But of course all I have are 2 gold ingots but no ores left, so out of luck until I find some more. Don't have obsidian yet for a zombie pigman farm.
