Warded Jars are items that are capable of storing essentia. A single Warded Jar can store up to 64 of a single type of essentia, or 8 phials of essentia (which can be emptied into the Warded Jar by right-clicking). The appearance of a Warded Jar will change depending on how many and which type of essentia is contained within. While an empty Warded Jar has aspects of 23 Lignum, 3 Praecantantio, and 6 Vitreus, a Jar containing essentia will have aspects equal to the amount and type it is storing. This value can also be seen in the world while wearing the Goggles of Revealing. Warded Jars can serve as aspect sources while using an Infusion Altar.

This recipe must be made on the Arcane Worktable or the Infusion Altar. It costs 20 vis to make.

Thaumonomicon Entry[edit]

Warded jars.png

You have discovered a way to craft mystical containers reinforced with magic. These warded jars can keep almost anything contained within them -- even things that cannot normally be contained.

Warded jars are also capable of storing essentia and can be filled from essentia phials. They also act as an essentia source for Infusion Altars. If you have some automated way of gathering Essentia, you can mark the jars in the usual manner to have them automatically refilled.
